Day in the life with Meg Judge from the festival programming team.

Updated: May 25, 2023

What does a typical day look like to you being apart of the wave?

"Lots of research into the food vendors, artists and performers. Countless group discussions about our goals then we find it easier to allocate tasks for the day, which can vary from talking to logistics about compatibility of venues and ideas. Finance about budgets. And a lot of coffee to get me through the day!"

How have you been finding the dynamics of how you and your group have been working?

"Good, I think the key is finding the balance of my teammates, as some of us have more experience than others. Also some of us have different strengths so I think we have found a groove of allocating people to specific roles which plays to their strengths."

What skills are required for your position?

"Organisation, time management, collaboration, patience, compromise."

What are your responsibilities?

"Plan a program for the festival, research for our festivals demographic - understanding our consumers and curating a programme to ensure our festival is as successful it can be."

What do you hope to have complete by the end of your placement?

"To have organised a successful festival that will hopefully be put on in the near future. Personally - to have gained an insight to the behind the scenes of event programming as that is an interest of mine."
